Observing broken shells and stones, this collection is a natural continuation of the previous Postmodern Mermaid collection. Finding beauty and fascination in imperfections on the materials' surfaces, like scars reminding us of the past.

The various forms of shell and stone fragments are enhanced by the use of metal or pearls to create a memento, a talisman or a treasured object that reminds us of the traces of time gone by. The contrast of shiny metal and the beauty and opulence of pearls against the uneven structure and strange shapes of what it encases. A fragment that many would overlook, now set in a gleaming frame, suddenly so desirable.

Inspired by the inexorable force of time, forgetting, conservation, inability to let go, shapes of drying mud, fishing nets, the sea bed and soil.
