Variable necklace with a broken-chain element and a raw-cut silk ribbon made from deadstock silk fabric.
Inspired by the contrasts between materials and the many ways we interpret strength. We tend to associate strength with metal — hard, unyielding, resilient. Here, the metal buckle is snapped, with delicate chains streaming from it, held up by silk — a material so soft it borders on fragile, yet remarkably strong. I chose this contrast of materials intentionally. To express that sometimes we recognize strength only in its most aggressive form, while vulnerability gets mistaken for weakness. It isn't. It's strength in its rawest form.
Due to the freehand soldering technique, each piece can slightly differ from the sample on the photo.

To extend the life of your jewellery, keep it away from water, oil and moisture and apply your favourite perfume or cream before putting it on. If necessary, polish your jewellery gently with a soft cloth.
